Anuário da Indústria de Implementos Rodoviários 2023

65 Brazilian manufacturers of implements have already participated in a lot of international business rounds, as a rule in the American continent. But Anfir members took part in IAA Transportation, the Hannover Show, in September 2022. Seventeen companies went to Germany, creating business worth a potential $12 million. Brazilian participation was facilitated by MoveBrazil, an agreement between the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and Anfir. The project manager at ApexBrasil, Maíra Rezende, spoke about the importance of the trip: “The evolution of technology has made Brazilian equipment more advanced and efficient, increasing competitiveness in markets such as Europe. “ According to Rezende, about $200 million in business has already been done based on support in missions and business rounds. “An agency like ApexBrasil endorses the credibility of brands abroad, mainly because the market associates the trust of a company with the industrial export policy of the country where it is based,” says Randon’s director of international business and sales, Renato Silva. The director-general of Frigo King, Marcos de Paula, also recognizes ApexBrasil’s efforts. “Our company has had an excellent return. Being in the MoveBrazil program has been very good for the international expansion of our brand,” he says. The executive director of Anfir, Mário Rinaldi, says work with ApexBrasil has had good results because interest in foreign trade is increasing among members. “This is regardless of size, since we have small, medium and large companies actively participating in all trade promotion actions,” he says. The 2023 schedule began in Kentucky, USA, at the end of March with five business rounds and a trade mission throughout the year. Rinaldi says Paraguay is the largest buyer of Brazilian implements, followed by Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru and Argentina. Maíra, from ApexBrasil, says other important markets in the region include Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico and Panama. “The USA is also a promising market. It is very competitive, but its producers have long lead times, which can be an opportunity for Brazilian companies.” Expected growth - Since 2004, Anfir members have exported an average of 4,500 implements per year. In 2022, shipments totaled 5,700 units, growth of 12.1% on 2021. The CEO of Librelato, José Carlos Sprícigo, estimates a 10% increase in exports in 2023: “We are aiming to do other important business outside Brazil, mainly with fleet owners from South America and Africa.” Victor Moraes, Truckvan’s foreign trade manager, also forecasts growth. “We are working hard on our network of overseas distributors,” he says. For this year, the executive forecasts good business with Paraguay, Uruguay, and Bolivia.
