Anuário da Indústria de Implementos Rodoviários 2017

86 FENATRAN | FENATRAN | FENATRAN A new home, a new life. So it is for the 21st edition of the most important trade show for the transport sector in Latin America, the International Road Freight Transport Show, which will be held from October 16 to 20 in São Paulo again, but at a new venue. The Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion has given way to the state-of-the-art São Paulo Expo, a complex next to the Imigrantes highway The move by Fenatran - as the show is known - to the new venue, say organizers, answers calls from exhibitors and visitors, who will have better infrastructure, providing superior comfort, access and visibility. It will certainly be one more attraction for an event that has always been an important showcase for new products, technologies and services for the industry. With institutional support from the National Association of Highway Implement Manufacturers (ANFIR), the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) and NTC&Logística, the 2017 edition is even more relevant as it will be held at a time when hope is being held out for a recovery in the domestic market, after three years of recession. Proof of this is that, unlike the last edition, held in 2015 in an even more troubled scenario from an economic and political point of view, at the official event announcing this year’s edition at the beginning of the year four automakers had already confirmed they would attend. In 2015, only two attended with the massive presence of the road implements industry. Reed Exhibition Alcântara Machado, the organizer of the show, estimates that, in total, about 450 brands will be on show at Fenatran - there were 320 at the last one - spread over 130,000 m² of floor space at the center, next to the Immigrants highway in the south of São Paulo city, with easy access to the subway, Congonhas airport and Mário Covas ring road. In addition, the car park has 4,500 parking spaces. An estimated 60,000 people from at least 60 countries are expected to attend over the five days of the show. The director of the organizer, Gustavo Binardi, says that Fenatran 2017 will be about much more than the show itself. Much more business Parallel events will also be held, such as Movimat 2017, the 32nd edition of the International Integrated Logistics Show, the Fenatran Experience, in which visitors will be able to test drive trucks, and the Fenatran Congress, a forum for discussions on the direction the sector is headed in. Moreover, participants will have at their disposal Knowledge Island, a space for technical promotions, and Premium Club Plus, which helps clients and exhibitors do business. The organizers hope to increase the investments made by exhibitors with business rounds, organizing caravans to bring in professionals from the sector, and other talks and workshops. The target is to turn over R$ 150 million, 20% more than the 2015 edition. Alcides Braga, president of ANFIR, sees the show has a potential driver of the highway implements business and other products and services. “Fenatran has proved to be an excellent opportunity to strengthen partnerships and start new business,” he says. Antonio Megale, president of Anfavea, says that although the truck industry still causes concern, this year’s show will be the best ever. “We expect that the mood to be different in October,” says the executive, referring specifically to the pace of commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market. It is the same line of analysis as from the president of NTC&Logística, José Hélio Hernandes. According to him, the show will reflect a positive environment due to the expected growth of the entire chain that drives the sector, including logistics.” Fenatran will certainly tread the path it always has,” he said. In its brand new, modern facilities, Fenatran 2017 embodies the hopes of the sector as one of the drivers of recovery Renewed hope and opportunity
