Anuário da Indústria de Implementos Rodoviários 2017

12 AAfter two consecutive years of downturn in business the first lights of recovery can be seen in 2017. ANFIR forecasts growth of 10% for this year. It may not seem much, given the successive falls, but we all know that while falls are fast, climbs are always slower. This growth perspective after two years of recession is not an exercise in optimism. It is based on the analysis of the situation in 2017, which suggests that it is not absurd to imagine a recovery. One of the signs that point to a better year is the coordination of economic policy. The country’s development is in firm hands which are averse to juggling and well-versed in getting the economy out of the doldrums. We can already see the return of confidence, even if , in practical terms, some business is slow to pick up. We now have better credit conditions, although we know well these costs have to fall a great deal yet. But with the positive outlook for inflation and the base rates, we believe that this will happen and, as a consequence, investments will be more predictable. We in the industry are doing our part. After reducing costs, we are looking to broaden our commercial horizons further. This vision resulted in the first agreement between ANFIR and Apex-Brasil and numerous contacts with companies in Chile, Colombia, Peru, and other Latin American countries. The creation of this relationship with Latin American partners will result in more business in 2017, bringing relief to our members who export. Another important fact that will certainly drive the sector is another edition of Fenatran. The largest trade show in Latin America’s cargo transport sector is an excellent opportunity to strengthen partnerships or even start new businesses. We can finally see on the horizon the government’s attempt to confront the main problems that are holding Brazil back. We hope in 2017 to see more modern and simpler legislation that allows the productive sector to focus its investments and efforts on what matters: producing and transporting the country’s wealth.
