Implementos Rodoviários | 2015

25 2015 Internally, ANFIR created the ‘’ANFIR Compliance Stamp’’ (Selo de Conformidade ANFIR), which exposes to the society the legal status of the companies of the industry. It is awarded only to companies that prove to be up to date with all taxes. It is not mandatory, not even for the associate. However, the industry that desire to acquire it has to undergo external audit and prove their legal status. For all its achievements, ANFIR commands great respect and recognition from its associates. “Over its 35 years, ANFIR has become an association of small group of competitors in a large trade association. I am proud to be part of this history”, says Lauro Pastre. With the association, “the Industry achieved national representation”, recognizes Leonardo De Vincenzo Filho, Sales and Marketing Director for Rodofort. He says that the company joined the association in order to “strengthen and create standards for the industry.” And he recognizes that not only his company, but the entire roadway equipment segment “won greater representation at a national level.” Marcos Guerra expressed his satisfaction saying that the company still has members on the board of directors and the coordination of the technical committee at ANFIR. 35 years after the creation of ANFIR, the world keeps changing. The biggest concern now is no longer technology, but the sustainability of the planet, both in environmental and social aspects. Always attentive to the reality of events, ANFIR made room for discussions about water and for the social programs of the companies in the industry, in this edition of the Yearbook. See the interview, in the Box, with the current Chairman, Alcides Braga, about the past and the future of ANFIR. Balance and perspectives Current President of ANFIR, Alcides Braga, speaks of the achievements and the future of the entity Mr. Alcides Braga, has ANFIR fulfilled its duties over these 35 years? It certainly did. The organization has come to represent one of the most important industries of the Brazilian economy, which is present in practically all operations of other segments – directly or indirectly – and responsible for handling more than 60% of all goods transiting by land in Brazil. What is the concept that the entity enjoys before governments, society and the press? I can positively say that ANFIR reaches its 35 years with a strong image of an entity which represents the legitimate interests of a significant share of Brazilian industry. By which sectors and government agencies is the association currently represented? ANFIR, as a representative entity of a share of the industry, fulfills its role of interlocutor with the government, therefore maintaining constant dialogue with the Ministries of Industry, Development and Foreign Trade, Transport, Agriculture and Agricultural Development, besides other bodies linked to them, such as BNDES, Denatran and others. What are the recent achievements of ANFIR that benefit its partners, the transport industry and/or society in general? Some achievements, such as fixed rules and interest rates for PSI/Finame in 2014, were obtained together with partner organizations. Others, in the technical field – which incorporate equipment such as ABS brakes on trailers and semi-trailers, for example – resulted from ANFIR efforts on the continuous improvement of road freight transport. What are the main goals in the short and medium term? To maintain good relationship and communication with the government in order to establish an environment which is beneficial for the good progress of our business, because, as we all know, reflect the performance of the economy in general.
