24 2015 Institucional Institutional gressed in their achievements and credibility. Rodofort, for example, founded in 2005, joined the association with only three years of existence. Security choice The goals were achieved gradually. After the institutional mission has been fulfilled, ANFIR redirected its activities. “Over the past decade, the association began to focus more on security,” recalls Mario Rinaldi. “The board has developed programs and stood ready to collaborate with the public sector in the development of product and legislation that would make the road equipment safer both for the occupants of trucks and for other vehicles and pedestrians”, he says. This attitude has provided great advances, but also increased social responsibilities. For example, the entity has become sponsor of the Brazilian Committee 39 (CB 39), of the Brazilian National Standards Organization (ABNT) that creates terminology, requirements, test methods and generalities for the Brazilian roadway equipment. A partnership with the National Traffic Department (Denatran) turned ANFIR into a Renavam (National Registry of Vehicles) code insertion channel of the newly created products. “This process is now fully automated, the manufacturers neither face bureaucracy nor waste time”, guarantees Mario Rinaldi. “They just fill out the form and send it by e-mail, so we make the registration in a few seconds.” ANFIR also participates in the Thematic Chamber of Vehicular Affairs, of the National Traffic Department (Denatran), and advises the National Traffic Council (Contran), a body that creates laws and regulations governing parameters for vehicle traffic in Brazil. The ABS brake system and the side and rear body guards, which prevent cars, motorcycles, bicycles and people from being thrown to the underside of the vehicles, were indications of ANFIR in order to improve safety. The suggestions - which were followed - have become standards and, today, all national equipment manufacturers must comply with them. Advances in the relationship with public agencies gained speed with the implementation of an ANFIR office in Brasilia (DF), in 2012. “Since then, we have been more present and started being invited to give our opinion on important issues”, says the CEO. I hereby congratulate ANFIR for its 35 years of effective performance in the Brazilian market. The entity has shown, throughout its trajectory, much effort and sense of responsibility for the benefit of roadway equipment segment, acting as a key partner of ANFAVEA. I wish this company even greater success in the coming years, and I am convinced that we will be working together for the development of the industry in Brazil. Luiz Moan Yabiku Junior, president of ANFAVEA Over its 35 years of history, ANFIR has been working quite efficiently not only supporting its members, but also acting as a partner on issues that are sensitive to the Freight Road Transport industry. Whenever I called Alcides, I found the support of the Association – and I can mention, particularly, the great support for FENATRAN, a very important trade show in the industry. More recently, ANFIR proved to be an essential and decisive part to implement the first Fenatran Centro-Oeste, in Goiânia, a region where the transport industry is one of the most representatives in the economic growth. Finally, I believe that the Association and its members tend to grow annually in terms of importance and performance. I am very proud to be part of the story of an industry which consists of entities focused on the common good and the development of the country. José Hélio Fernandes, NTC&Logística Chairman ABNT is honored to partner with the National Association of Roadway Equipment Manufacturers (ANFIR) in these 16 years of partnership, with the creation of the Brazilian Committee of Roadway Equipment (ABNT/CB-39), always seeking to improve the standardization in the field of roadway equipment, including trailers, semi-trailers and bodies for trucks and containers, with regard to terminology, requirements, test methods and generalities. Congratulations to ANFIR for their 35 years of great commitment to their work. Pedro Buzatto Costa, president of the Advisory Board for the Brazilian National Standards Organization (ABNT).
